Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I am a 35-year-old male. I just saw on the news that the president’s residence is sealed. My daughter was on a trip there, and later, she told me that the president received a package. During inspection, it was identified as some unidentified powder, and the news started mentioning anthrax powder poisoning. I want to know if someone can similarly harm me, just by sending anthrax powder in the mail. How potent is the poison? I want to be extra careful.
Thank you.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I have read your query, and I can understand your concern.
An ordinary person cannot have access to anthrax powder or poison, so do not worry; it cannot be anthrax. Anthrax is highly poisonous, and contact with it can be lethal. If you develop symptoms such as severe fever, pneumonia, and so on, you should be concerned about infection, but not specifically anthrax, as it is highly toxic, and a healthy human cannot tolerate it. If you do develop any symptoms, please visit a nearby hospital for immediate management. For now, observe your symptoms. If you experience high fever, vomiting, or swelling on the face, please let us know.
I hope I have answered your question.
Thank you.
