Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am reaching out to seek some advice regarding the symptoms I have been experiencing. I am a 15-year-old, almost 16, and I believe I might be experiencing symptoms of bacterial vaginosis (BV). I have noticed a white discharge with a foul odor, (this has been happening since I was about 12 or 13). I am hesitant to discuss this with my mom as she tends to be judgmental, and I fear her assumptions might not be accurate. I am eager to understand how to approach this situation and what treatment options I might consider without immediately going to the doctor. I would greatly appreciate any guidance or suggestions you could offer.

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern.

Regarding your symptoms, I believe you have bacterial vaginosis. I want to know if you have any history of itching or lower abdominal pain. I can see you have whitish fowl-smelling vaginal discharge (attachment removed to protect patient's identity). I suggest you do a high vaginal and endo cervical swab test and reply to me with the result. I suggest you kindly take the following:

  1. Injection Ceftriaxone (Cephalosporins) 1gm once a day for 10 days.
  2. Insert 2% Gyno-Daktarin (Miconazole) into the vaginal twice a day.
  3. Tablet Metronidazole (Hypromellose and Cellulose) 400mg three times a day orally.
  4. Capsule Co-Amoxiclav (Amoxicillin and Clavulanic acid) 625mg twice a day orally.
  5. Tablet Ketoconazole (Antifungal) 200mg orally once a day.

I hope this will help you.

Thank you.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
