Hello doctor,
I began taking Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo at the start of this month due to follicular cysts. I have observed two bruises on my arms and one on my leg. Are these side effects of the contraceptive?
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I would be in a better state to answer if you could attach a photograph of the area. Also, mention if is there any itching.
Do the lesions appear and disappear, or are they persistent?
Patient's Query
Hi doctor,
Thank you for the reply.
There is no itching. The bruising appears in different zones.
Hello,
Welcome back to icliniq.com.
Oral contraceptive pills do cause bruising. However, we need to evaluate the other causes of bleeding disorders.
I suggest you go for a complete blood count and PT (prothrombin time) and INR (international normalized ratio).
