Hello doctor,
I had this diet with no rice and meat for five months. Is it healthy? I eat meat but only when I attend occasions. I was 218.25 lb back then and now I am 160.93 lb
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
An ideal diet is a balanced combination of carbohydrates, proteins, and fats. Eating meat is not a necessity if you are taking adequate vegetarian proteins. If you are avoiding rice, but substituting that with any other healthy carbohydrate, that should be fine too. But remember that your diet should be sustainable. Always look into the future and think if you can follow a particular diet all your life. If the answer is no, that may not be the ideal diet for you. Another point I would like to add is that rice is a healthy grain, just as other grains are shown to be. Rice contains many nutrients. If your ancestors have been eating rice, then it is the grain your body recognizes and digests easily. Eat what your grandmother would feed you, cook all your meals at home, include lots of fruit and vegetables and your diet will be sorted. I hope that helps.
