Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

My mother, who is 61 years old, had a swollen abdomen. When we admitted her in the hospital doctors said fluid has built up in the stomach. Her skin turned yellow, and she complained of pain in the abdomen. The doctor stated that she has gallbladder cancer and it is in stage 4. She was healthy, and she never had any issues before. Just 10 days before, the abdomen swelling was started. She had her uterus removed six years back. She still can walk, talk and recognize everyone. I am attaching the CT scan films. If required, I will give more details.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I went through all the reports of your mother (attachment removed to protect patient identity).

  • Unfortunately, she has a very advanced cancer which has spread to liver and bones. It is causing obstruction in the flow of bile, which has caused jaundice.
  • There is no cure for her condition. She needs supportive care.
  • Please do not give her any chemotherapy if someone suggests. Give her the best supportive care. I am sorry for this information.
