Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I had sex for the first time last year, and since then I have had warts on my penis. Upon consulting a doctor, I was told that they are HPV warts, and even after treatment, the wart has completely disappeared but it is recurring sometimes in the form of an ulcer inside the penis. Additionally, there is a smell coming from the base of the wart. The doctor has prescribed me some medications, which I have been taking regularly since then. I want to know if the wart still feels the same, it has not been cured completely, so I would like to know whether it is HPV if yes will it be curable or not? Please suggest.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern.

Regarding your symptoms, I believe you have recurrent warts. I would have appreciated it if you sent a photo, so I can see that you improved following the prescription but a few symptoms are still persistent. So I would like you to repeat the PCR (polymerase chain test) for HPV (human papillomavirus) and reply to me with the result. I suggest the following treatment: Apply Podophyllin (Benzoin resin) cream at the site. Tablet Acyclovir (Magnesium stearate and Microcrystalline cellulose) 800mg orally, once a day.

If your symptoms persist, schedule another appointment. I hope this will help you.

Thank you.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
