Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I am a 39-year-old male. I have difficulty in my digestion. Whatever I eat does not get digested properly, and I think the body does not properly absorb it, so whatever I eat is passed through the stools, and I have severe irritation in my anal region. What can be the issue, doctor? I have this problem for the last two years. My body is weakening, and my vitamin D level is also lower than usual. How can I treat this condition?

Kindly help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern.

Your symptoms suggest chronic diarrhea. It might be due to IBD (irritable bowel syndrome), malabsorption, or gastrointestinal infection (especially concerning candida). The irritated anal area is due to passing the acidic stool and non-properly absorbed food. I should see a gastroenterologist and run further diagnostic tests like complete blood count, stool examination for ova parasites, and stool culture for bacterial and candida infection. Meanwhile, to ease your symptoms, I advise as follows:

  1. Nutritional Assessment: Your weakened state and low vitamin D levels may require attention to your overall nutrition. You must create a balanced diet according to your needs by your caring nutritionist.
  2. Hydration: Ensure adequate water intake to support digestion and overall health.
  3. Fiber-Rich Foods: Include fiber from fruits, vegetables, and whole grains to support digestive regularity.
  4. Probiotics: Consider incorporating probiotic-rich foods or supplements to promote a healthy gut microbiome.

I hope this information will help you.

Thanks.
