Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am afraid that I have a urinary tract infection. I am having pain around my urinary bladder and a feeling of uneasiness. What to do?

Please help.

Answered by Dr. Madhav Tiwari

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I can understand your concern.

Could you please help me with a few details so that we can get to the bottom of your issue?

1. Are you diabetic or hypertensive?

2. Have you had any surgeries in the past?

3. Have you at any point in your life been diagnosed with kidney stones?

4. Does the pain you are experiencing radiate towards your groin area?

5. Is the pain colicky in nature and associated with an urge to pee immediately?

6. Have you had any blood in your urine?

7. Is there a burning sensation in your urethral region?

Please get back to me with the details and I will do my best to assist you.

I would recommend you take an over-the-counter Paracetamol (analgesic) as and when you have pain. Drink lots of water.

Kindly consult a specialist, talk with them, and take medications with their consent.

Hope it helps.

Thanks and regards.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

Thanks for your reply.

I am not hypertensive or diabetic. I have not had any surgeries or kidney stones. I had no blood in my urine. The pain does not radiate, but I would say it is colicky and localized in the anterior pelvic region between the belly button and pubic bone. I also have not had any burning sensation.

Please help.

Answered by Dr. Madhav Tiwari

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

It may well be a kidney stone that has migrated down into the ureter. I would recommend you get a CT (computed tomography) scan or an ultrasound at a hospital near you to confirm what is going on.

In case of severe pain, please report to the nearest emergency department.

Hope it helps.

Thanks and regards.
