Lyme Disease

Lyme disease spreads to humans through infected black-legged tick bites. Borrelia burgdorferi is the causative bacteria. It is characterized by red circular lesions all over the body, fever, muscle pain, headache, fatigue, lymph node swelling, sleeping disorders, poor concentration, and joint pain. Treatment is through oral antibiotics. Some people experience symptoms even after treatment. This is referred to as post Lyme disease syndrome.
