Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

About 17 days ago, I discovered a slightly swollen lymph node on my neck right above one of my glands and below my ear (left side). If it were not for me randomly picking at my neck, I would not haveknown about it because it is not visible. It does not feel extremely big. I can just tell it is swollen because the right side of my neck does not have that slight swelling. I have been slightly sick for the past few weeks, but not seriously. My tonsils are swollen, especially my left one (same side with the swollen lymph node), though my throat is not extremely sore. I have been having a significant amount of mucus, my nose has been stuffy, and I have been clearing my throat non-stop. My head hurts a bit now and then, and my left ear has a weird popping or stuffy-like sensation. I want to know what this means. I do not know if this helps, but I possibly have a TMJ problem, but I do not know how that would affect this.

Please help.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern.

Do not worry. It seems to be due to a subacute infection of the upper respiratory tract. Lymphadenitis is due to the same, and it is not a serious issue. It is common. I suggest the following solutions for your complaints:

  1. Do gargle with Betadine gargle twice daily.

  2. Take steam inhalation thrice daily.

  3. Take herbal tea twice daily.
  4. Take a tablet containing Bromelain, Trypsin, and Rutoside twice a day, a tablet of Azithromycin 0.5 g per day, and a multivitamin tablet once a day. All tablets are to be taken for three days.

Kindly consult a specialist, talk with them, and take medications with their consent.

Follow-up after three days.

I hope this helps.

Kind regards.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
