Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I hit menopause, and it has been a bit of a rollercoaster ride for me. Lately, I have been dealing with migraines. Are there any treatments out there for managing these symptoms? And could all this be related to menopause messing with my hormones? As a busy teacher and mom, I need to get this sorted out so that I can return to feeling like myself again. Kindly advice.

Thank you.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I can understand your concern.

Menopause is a stage when your hormone levels reduce, and so the following symptoms start appearing such as hot flushes, vaginal discharge, and heart problems. Apart from this, one may also have a low sexual drive. The chances of arthritis are also increased. This stage must be managed by maintaining a healthy lifestyle and exercising regularly. One should include fruits and salads in one's diet and calcium intake should be increased. As far as HRT (hormone replacement therapy) is concerned, it is taken when the symptoms mentioned above affect your day-to-day activities and after regular checkups. The bone density can be improved by taking more calcium-rich food along with vitamin D. Sunlight is an excellent source of vitamin D. Active lifestyle is the key to long and healthy menopause.

I hope this information will help you.

Thank you.
