Hi doctor,
I have been diagnosed with polycystic ovary syndrome and, also trying to conceive for more than three years ago. I consulted a doctor and he has prescribed me Metformin hydochloride. However, it has been three months since there have been no signs of a period. This Metformin hydrochloride medicine was meant to regulate my period. Please help.

Menstrual irregularities could be due to hormonal imbalance cause by polycystic ovarian syndrome. Polycystic ovarian syndrome is a endocrinal disorder in which hormonal imbalance will be there due to cyst in ovary, facial hair growth and weight gain maybe there. As it is a lifestyle disease, you have to change your lifestyle, eat a high protein diet with lots of vegetables, and, fruits and exercise regularly. Get your hemoglobin, hemoglobin A1 c,thyroid stimulating hormone, and ultrasound abdomen. Metformin hydochloride used for weight reduction in polycystic ovarian syndrome patient.
