Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I engaged in intercourse with my boyfriend without using a condom. We had vaginal intercourse, there was precum, but no fluid was released, it might have been the precum. I took Metronidazole tablets and Itraconazole for a month, and it subsided. However, I have a recurring yeast infection. I had my blood and urine tests done, and they all came back normal. I took medication, and it went away. Last month, it came back, so I used a cotton cloth, and the infection disappeared. However, I cannot always rely on using cotton cloth. I am concerned whether this might be HIV, as one of the symptoms I found online matches my condition. Kindly help.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I read your query and understood your concern. Regarding your symptoms and the development of a vaginal infection after a previous unprotected sexual intercourse, I suggest you undergo following tests: HVS (high vaginal swab). You can also undergo RVS (rectal vaginal swab) to confirm for HIV (human immunodeficiency virus), if you are uncertain about the symptoms. I suggest you take the following medications:
I suggest you consult a specialist, talk with them, and take the medications with their consent. I hope this has helped you. Kindly follow up if you have more doubts.
Thank you.
